Something a bit different
Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you've all had a good hump day and are looking forward to the bank holiday this weekend! Today I thought I'd post something a little different, I think I just wanted a bit of a vent.
So as you may, or may not know, I work as a teacher in an anonymous secondary school and tomorrow is our big day-the maths GCSE (yes I really am a maths teacher, and yes, some people do actually like maths!) GCSE exams to teachers are a bit like the final in X factor or the World Cup final or that big marathon race to other people. It's that one big event that you spend all year building up to, you don't quite know what will happen but you know if it goes badly your head will be on the chopping block!
Yes, you would think the results would be down to the pupils, and that it's them who win/lose, but you'd be surprised how much teachers are measured on it also! I know all my pupils will be fine and get what they want because they're brilliant young people (most of them anyway!) and they've put in the hard work but I hope you'll all still be saying a little prayer for me at 9am as they start their test. Who knows what will happen!
On a positive note it's only 2 days till the holidays, although I'll be spending at least one day in school helping my pupils revise for their next maths exam.
Love Bertie xx
